These are hands down the best all around tire I've ever purchased. I've worked for Toyo and used to build tires so I know what goes into each one of their amazing tires. My mustang is heavily modified especially with suspension. These tires are quiet, grippy and with great tread life. I'm running 275/40/17 up front and 315/35/17 out back. I drive my car daily, rain or shine with complete confidence. I have zero complaints with these Extensa HPII and I think you will too.

Among the prominent tire manufacturing companies in the world, Toyo Tires need no introduction in the USA. Established in 1945, the Japanese-based tire maker has been producing a wide range of tires for passenger cars, CUVs, SUVs, light trucks, and commercial vehicles in various tire categories such as all-season, all-weather, all-terrain, summer, mud-terrain, UHP, and winter. The Extensa HP II is among the prominent all-season tire lines of Toyo that offer improved grip and handling year-round.
Engineered for passenger and luxury cars, the Toyo Extensa HP II not only looks fantastic but it also has the traits to run your drive fantastically well. The tire comes with a special tread compound for consistent traction and grip in dry, wet, and light snowy conditions. What separates this tire from its all-season peers is its high-performance capability; most of its sizes are W-speed rated, which means they can run up to 168 mph. The unidirectional pattern with full-depth sipes ensures a solid grip on the surface with improved braking and acceleration. The Extensa HP II is backed by the manufacturer’s limited tread life warranty of up to 45,000 miles.
So, how does the tire perform when delved into more details? Let’s try to find out in this Toyo Extensa HP II tire review.
Features and Benefits
All-season tires are designed to offer exceptional grip and traction in dry, wet, and light winter weather conditions. They feature circumferential grooves and ribbed patterns for better stability and handling. The Extensa HP II manages to be a good replacement tire under the all-season category.
- Improved grip and traction – The unidirectional tread pattern with zigzag cuts not only accentuates its aesthetic appeal but also delivers enhanced grip and traction on dry and wet surfaces. The single-cut and double-cut tapers optimize driving pressure on blocks to boost braking performance. The circumferential grooves and lateral grooves on the shoulders expel water quickly from the surface to avoid the risk of hydroplaning.
- Quiet and comfortable ride – The broad continuous center rib provides better steering responsiveness while the ribbed pattern improves stability and assists in enhancing stability. The full-depth multi-wave sipes not only improve light snow traction but also reduce noise to make the drive quiet and comfortable.
- Long-lasting tread – Resisting uneven wear of the tread are the multi-wave sipes and unique tread design. The use of a special silica compound not only improves wet performance but also helps in prolonging the service life of the tread. The unidirectional tread design also helps in ensuring even wear and limits uneven wear.

Tires bite the road real good. Tread pattern is nice and aggressive. I got compliments at the shop that installed the tires.
